In February 1902 the trustees of Trinity English Lutheran Congregation purchased two lots in Lindstrom for $350. Two months later the congregation voted to move forward and build a church at a cost estimated at $5,000. In May 1902 work began, and the cornerstone was laid on August 11, 1902
The church founders oversaw the construction of the church building in 1902, and invested wisely in commissioning its unique stained-glass windows. The stained-glass windows were crafted in 1902 by Ford Brothers, a leading stained-glass firm in Minneapolis. They were installed in 1903 by the firm Forman-Ford and Company.
The Chisago County Courier (predecessor to the Chisago County Press) reported on July 26, 1902 that “A sketch of the colored glass front window of the new English Lutheran Church has been received by the committee. The window which contains 104 sq. ft. is in pure gothic style and of exceptional beauty. A well executed portrait of Martin Luther fills the center surrounded by beautiful designs in well arranged colors. The window will cost about 150 dollars.”
On February 16, 2025, the congregation of Trinity enthusiastically approved a project to restore Trinity’s stained-glass windows. Shortly after, the church council appropriated funds to start work on the three windows most in need of work, and a contract with the Minneapolis stained-glass firm Gaytee-Palmer was signed.
